Regatta Series Race 3 – Dobroyd

A great effort by all yesterday at Dobroyd. Adults and juniors (Danebank and Sandy Point) combined to form a Premier Mixed boat, paddled very well, made the Minor Final, and gained a solid 3rd place. This was followed up with a 1+ km race around Rodd Island to finish off regatta.

The juniors in particular were fantastic. They raced 4 back-to-back mixed races, 2 Prems and 2 Junior, before the finals. After an additional 2 Junior Open races, they raced the 1km in the Prems boat, and a further 1km in the Junior boat, essentially back-to-back again. They showed a lot of heart and determination, and their efforts were very much appreciated and admired by all who were there, especially the adult paddlers and the coaches. A big thank you for your efforts.

Lunar Festival Races

The next regatta, the 2022 Sydney Lunar Festival Dragon Boat Races at Darling Harbour, on Saturday February 5, 2022, is less than 3 weeks away. This will be the largest event on the Dragon Boats NSW calendar this season. We would love to enter multiple boats, Senior and Premier, at this regatta.
